Located in the Gothic Quarter, one of the oldest cores of the city and its historic quarter, The Onsider Mercè is an old and historic building from 1598 previously known as Casa Verdaguer, whose architectural project is in charge of the renowned Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura .

Part of Bofill’s proposal and in conjunction with Heritage of Barcelona, it was decided to completely refurbish the building but conserving the relevant structures such as the facades, both the exterior to Plata and Mercè streets, as well as the interior facade of the typical patio that is located in the buildings of the Gothic quarter.

Bofill’s postmodernist legacy becomes visible in a fresh project that preserves the past by merging it with new trends and taking care of even the smallest detail to make Mercè the impressive new luxury residential building for the most daring cosmopolitans who decide to make of Barcelona their home away from home.
